This course will teach candidates how to climb trees, move around the tree crown and descend to the ground safely. The course also covers how to carry out aerial rescues from different situations and lead to the NPTC CS38 Assessment

Candidates are not required to hold an existing chainsaw qualification to be able to attend this course, but if they wish to proceed to Using a Chainsaw from a Rope & Harness they will need CS30 & CS31 as pre-requisites.

Course Content :

  • Risk assessments
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Current legislation including Work at Height 2005 & LOLER
  • Pre-climb inspections & work plans
  • Selection & inspection of climbing equipment
  • Climb tree, branch walk, descend tree
  • Aerial rescue techniques

Course Length

  • 5 days plus NPTC assessment
